DIGITAL CITY: DIGITAL CHAMPION PROGRAMME

Related pages:

This bespoke digital champion programme has been made specifically to support schools across Portsmouth with the Portsmouth Digital City project and is fully funded through the apprenticeship levy (other funding may be available if needed).

We are inviting a teacher or member of the senior leadership team to undertake the 18-month apprenticeship (starting in January 2023 for the first cohort), where they will learn skills in five key areas to enable them to have a strategic lead on digital across their school including:

  • Leadership and governance – understanding the organisation
  • Auditing the current state – making the most of the technology you have
  • Classroom and device refresh – using technology to enhance teaching and learning, reduce workload and support accessibility and inclusion for children, adults and the wider community
  • Financial planning – budgeting and planning for refresh
  • Digital strategy, visioning and planning – creating a sustainable vision for your school

The programme will also provide the opportunity for the teacher/leader to become either a Microsoft or Google Educator, which may align with your school’s digital strategy vision.

Future cohorts and programmes will be designed throughout the year for admin and support staff as well as a cyber security apprenticeship for technical staff. For more information please contact Lauren Delday ([email protected]).
