Portsmouth SEND roadshow arrives in Paulsgrove to support families with SEMH needs

Portsmouth SEND Local Offer and Portsmouth Parent Voice (PPV) continue to support families in the city who require information about social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) services.

Local Offer On Tour is an informal coffee morning style event that invites the community into venues across the city to speak with professionals, ask questions and be signposted to relevant services.

The next event will take place at St Michael and All Angels’ Church in Paulsgrove on Wednesday 12 February 2025 from 10am – 12.30pm.

There are no formal presentations with organisations in attendance referring or answering questions around tables. The previous event held at Central Library saw over 40 individuals attend including parents/carers and professionals.

A spokesperson for Portsmouth City Council said:

“Local Offer On Tour is a new event that reaches out into the community, hosted at unique venues across Portsmouth. We know families value conversations with professionals which helps us signpost and make referrals to services in the area.

“We would encourage any parents/carer and professionals who have/work with children with social, emotional and mental health needs to attend the event.”

There will be a range of services in attendance including Portsmouth City Council’s neurodiversity team, the Mental Health Hub, Kooth, mental health support team (NHS), HIVE and SENDIAAS (special educational needs and disability information advisory service).

Further announcements are set to be made in the coming weeks about other relevant services in attendance.

For those wishing to attend, please visit the official event page to sign up for a ticket. This will help Portsmouth SEND Local Offer and Portsmouth Parent Voice (PPV) manage the space accordingly.

Light refreshments will be available with children welcome to attend. For more information, please visit www.portsmouthlocaloffer.org/ontour.
